McIlroy A58 Cocobolo Old Growth Redwood
Het A-model is de middelgrote jumbo van McIlroy, ook wel bekend als een gitaar van auditoriumformaat. Dit is het meest populaire formaat van het merk en uiterst comfortabel om te spelen, terwijl hij een heldere, luchtige klank produceert met een enorm volume. Zoals altijd bij McIlroy is de bouw- en geluidkwaliteit van het allerhoogste niveau. Niet alleen het hout is bijzonder fraai maar ook de verfijnde klank is volledig in evenwicht met het uiterlijk.
Voor deze A58 heeft McIlroy iets heel speciaals in petto; de gitaar is namelijk gebouwd met een klankkast van cocobolo die wordt vergezeld door een bovenblad van Old Growth Redwood dat is gewonnen uit ruim 100 jaar geleden gekapte bomen uit Noord Californië. Deze bomen waren de 1500 tot meer dan 2000 jaar oude giganten die meer dan 120 meter hoog waren. Het hout werd vervoerd naar naar Oregon waar het werd verwerkt tot het klankhout dat onder meer in deze gitaar is beland. Cocobolo is een tropisch hardhout en staat bekend om zijn uitgebreide nerf en stijl, en zorgt voor een verbluffend uiterlijk, wat de achter- en zijkanten van deze gitaar zeker bewijzen. Het voegt ook warmte en een fenomenale articulatie toe aan het geluid.
De ebben binding en de purfling van palissander, esdoorn en pau ferro zorgen voor de versiering van de body. De abalone rozet is de kers op de taart! De vijfdelige hals bestaat uit mahonie, esdoorn en palissander, en is voorzien van een ebben toets en kopplaat. Ook hier spreekt de fabuleuze afwerking tot de verbeelding; de esdoorn purfling is zichtbaar op de toets en de kop, terwijl de 12e fret gesierd wordt door een fraaie Keltische inleg van abalone.
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van TKL.
The A-model is McIlroy's mid-sized jumbo, also known as an auditorium-sized guitar. This is the brand's most popular size and is extremely comfortable to play, while producing a clear, airy tone with enormous volume. As always with McIlroy, the build and sound quality are of the highest level. Not only is the wood exceptionally beautiful, but the refined tone is also completely in balance with the appearance.
McIlroy has something very special in store for this A58; the guitar is built with a cocobolo sound box that is accompanied by an Old Growth Redwood top that was harvested from trees that were felled in Northern California over 100 years ago. These trees were the 1500 to over 2000 year old giants that were over 120 meters high. The wood was transported to Oregon where it was processed into the tonewood that ended up in this guitar, among other things. Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood and is known for its rich grain and style, and provides a stunning appearance, which the back and sides of this guitar certainly prove. It also adds warmth and phenomenal articulation to the sound.
The ebony binding and the purfling of rosewood, maple and pau ferro provide the ornamentation of the body. The abalone rosette is the icing on the cake! The five-piece neck consists of mahogany, maple and rosewood, and is equipped with an ebony fingerboard and headstock. Here too, the fabulous finish speaks to the imagination; the maple purfling is visible on the fingerboard and headstock, while the 12th fret is adorned with a beautiful Celtic inlay of abalone.
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a TKL hardshell case.

Bei diesen Bäumen handelte es sich um 1500 bis über 2000 Jahre alte Riesen, die über 120 Meter hoch waren. Das Holz wurde nach Oregon transportiert, wo es unter anderem zu dem Tonholz verarbeitet wurde, das schließlich in dieser Gitarre landete. Cocobolo ist ein tropisches Hartholz und ist für seine ausgedehnte Maserung und seinen Stil bekannt und sorgt für ein atemberaubendes Aussehen, was der Boden und die Zargen dieser Gitarre zweifellos beweisen. Es verleiht dem Klang außerdem Wärme und eine phänomenale Artikulation.
Die Einfassung aus Ebenholz und die Einlagen aus Palisander, Ahorn und Pau Ferro sorgen für die Verzierung des Korpus. Die Abalone-Rosette ist das i-Tüpfelchen! Der fünfteilige Hals besteht aus Mahagoni, Ahorn und Palisander und verfügt über ein Griffbrett und eine Kopfplatte aus Ebenholz. Auch hier regt die fabelhafte Verarbeitung die Fantasie an; Die Ahorneinlage ist auf dem Griffbrett und der Kopfplatte sichtbar, während der 12. Bund mit einer wunderschönen keltischen Abalone-Einlage verziert ist.
Die Gitarre wird mit TFOA-Pass in einem TKL-Koffer geliefert.
