McIlroy Musical Instruments is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and to celebrate this anniversary, this A25 25th Anniversary has been released! On March 6, 2000, Dermot McIlroy and his wife Colleen started their own company with 21 years of experience in various positions within guitar building, including 10 years at Lowden.

De instrumenten uit de A-serie van McIlroy zijn het meest populaire formaat gitaren uit het assortiment van het merk, en zijn mid-size Jumbo's, ook wel bekend als Auditorium. De gitaren zijn extreem comfortabel om te bespelen en produceren een heldere, luchtige klank met enorm volume.
Zoals altijd bij McIlroy is de bouw- en geluidkwaliteit van het allerhoogste niveau. Niet alleen het hout is bijzonder fraai maar ook de verfijnde klank is volledig in evenwicht met het uiterlijk. Het Western Red ceder bovenblad wordt vergezeld door een klankkast van prachtig Engels Black notenhout, waarbij de ebben binding en de purfling van esdoorn en palissander voor de detaillering zorgen. De paua abalone rozet is de kers op de taart!
De vijfdelige hals bestaat uit Braziliaans mahonie, esdoorn en notenhout, en is voorzien van een ebben toets en kopplaat. Ook hier spreekt de fabuleuze afwerking tot de verbeelding; de esdoorn purfling is zichtbaar op de toets en de kop, terwijl de 12e fret gesierd wordt door een fraaie Keltische inleg van abalone. De Gotoh 510 stemmechanieken zorgen tenslotte voor een soepele stemervaring.
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van TKL.
The McIlroy A-series instruments are the most popular size guitars in the brand’s range, and are mid-size Jumbos, also known as Auditoriums. The guitars are extremely comfortable to play and produce a clear, airy tone with enormous volume.
As always with McIlroy, the build and sound quality is of the highest level. Not only is the wood exceptionally beautiful, but the refined tone is also in perfect harmony with the appearance. The Western Red Cedar top is accompanied by a beautiful English Black Walnut back and sides, with ebony binding and maple and rosewood purfling providing the detail. The paua abalone rosette is the icing on the cake!
The five-piece neck is made of Brazilian mahogany, maple and walnut, and is fitted with an ebony fingerboard and headstock overlay. Here too, the fabulous finish speaks to the imagination; the maple purfling is visible on the fingerboard and headstock, while the 12th fret is adorned with a beautiful Celtic abalone inlay. Finally, the Gotoh 510 tuners ensure a smooth tuning experience.
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a TKL hardshell case.
Die McIlroy A-Serie ist die beliebteste Gitarrengröße der Marke und gehört zu den mittelgroßen Jumbos, auch Auditoriums genannt. Die Gitarren sind äußerst komfortabel zu spielen und erzeugen einen klaren, luftigen Klang mit enormem Volumen.
Wie immer bei McIlroy sind Verarbeitung und Klangqualität auf höchstem Niveau. Nicht nur das Holz ist außergewöhnlich schön, auch der edle Klang harmoniert perfekt mit der Optik. Die Decke aus Western Red Cedar wird von einem wunderschönen Boden und Zargen aus englischem Schwarznussholz begleitet. Ein Ebenholz-Binding sowie eine Einlage aus Ahorn und Palisander verleihen dem Instrument einen besonderen Charme. Die Rosette aus Paua-Abalone ist das i-Tüpfelchen!
Der fünfteilige Hals besteht aus brasilianischem Mahagoni, Ahorn und Walnuss und ist mit einem Griffbrett und einer Kopfplatte aus Ebenholz versehen. Auch hier beflügelt das hochwertige Finish die Fantasie: Die Ahorn-Einlage ist auf Griffbrett und Kopfplatte sichtbar, während der 12. Bund mit einer wunderschönen keltischen Abalone-Einlage verziert ist. Die Gotoh 510-Mechaniken sorgen für ein reibungsloses Stimmerlebnis.
Die Gitarre wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem TKL-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
