De Legacy 514ce, oorspronkelijk ontworpen als onderdeel van de viering van het 50-jarig jubileum van Taylor, is een eerbetoon aan de Grand Auditorium bodyvorm - een innovatie van Bob Taylor die de akoestische gitaarwereld sinds de introductie in 1994 een nieuwe vorm heeft gegeven. Dit exclusieve model heeft een unieke klankhoutcombinatie: mahonie achter- en zijkanten met een Western Red Cedar bovenblad. De pittige midrange en droge, houtachtige tonen van mahonie vullen de warmte en zacht aanvoelende gevoeligheid van ceder perfect aan, waardoor het ideaal is voor fingerstyle spelers en strummers met een zachtere aanslag.
De gitaar is gestemd met de traditionele X-bracing die Bob gebruikte op de eerste Grand Auditorium modellen en is uitgerust met Taylor's kenmerkende slanke, makkelijk bespeelbare halsprofiel. De afwerking weerspiegelt Bob's gestroomlijnde, ingetogen esthetiek, inclusief faux tortoiseshell binding en slagplaat, zwarte en witte top purfling, Small Diamond toetsinleg in parelmoer, een rozet met drie ringen in groen abalone, ebbenhouten brugpennen met groene abalone stippen en gouden stemmechanieken. De glanzend afgewerkte body en satijnen hals maken de verfijnde look compleet.
Dit model wordt geleverd met LR Baggs Element VTC elektronica met op het klankgat gemonteerde regelaars en wordt geleverd inclusief een luxe hardshell koffer.
The Legacy 514ce, originally designed as part of Taylor's 50th anniversary celebration, honors the Grand Auditorium body shape—a Bob Taylor innovation that has reshaped the acoustic guitar world since its introduction in 1994. This exclusive model features a unique tonewood combination: mahogany back and sides with a Western Red cedar top. Mahogany’s punchy midrange and dry, woody tones perfectly complement the warmth and soft-touch sensitivity of cedar, making it ideal for fingerstyle players and strummers with a gentler touch.
The guitar is voiced with the traditional X-bracing Bob used on the first Grand Auditorium models and is equipped with Taylor's signature slim, easy-to-play neck profile. Appointments reflect Bob's sleek, understated aesthetic, including faux tortoiseshell binding and pickguard, black and white top purfling, Small Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, and gold tuning machines. The gloss-finished body and satin neck complete the refined look.
This model comes with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics with soundhole-mounted controls and includes a deluxe hardshell case.
