Vanaf zijn eerste verschijning in 1959 is de Wilshire een van Epiphone's meest succesvolle originele solidbody elektrische gitaarontwerpen.
De Wilshire P90 brengt veel van de kenmerken van de vroegste Wilshire-modellen terug, waaronder de symmetrische dubbel cutaway mahonie body met dubbele PRO P90 Soapbar-pickups, 'three on a side' kleinere Kalamazoo-kop met Epiphone Bikini-badge en ivoren knop Epiphone Deluxe stemmechanieken, en een vlinder-tortoise slagplaat met folie E-logo.
De Wilshire P90 is uitgerust met een 'glued-in' mahonie hals met een medium C profiel, Indisch laurier toets met 12 inch radius en 22 medium jumbo frets, 2 volume- en 2 toonregelaars en een Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic brug en stopbar staartstuk.
