Moderne 'high gain' spelers hebben strakke lage frequenties nodig die snel slaan en reageren op staccato handpalmdemping. Ze hebben hoge frequenties nodig die snijden zonder hard en korrelig te zijn. Ze hebben een effectieve midrange-distortion nodig met complexiteit en articulatie. En ze hebben zinderende distortion nodig zonder de ruis. De nieuwe Lynx is ontworpen om aan deze eisen te voldoen en deze zelfs te overtreffen.
De Lynx heeft twee verschillende kanalen en maar liefst 7 versterkingsfasen. Kanaal 1 is klassieke high gain die gruizige cleane tot 80's metal tonen dekt. Channel 2 is moderne high gain met een enorme sonische voetafdruk, maar blijft altijd gearticuleerd. Een nieuwe Lo/Hi-schakelaar maakt het mogelijk om de topologie van de versterkingstrap te verkennen die nog niet eerder is gevonden in een andere versterker van Bad Cat.
