De meest populaire staalsnarige gitaar aller tijden, de dreadnought is een designklassieker. De Atkin Dreadnought is gebaseerd op de klassieke vooroorlogse modellen uit de jaren 30. Ze bouwen en repareren deze gitaarstijl al voor jaren, en net als bij de J45, heeft elk vintage exemplaar waaraan ze hebben gewerkt hen iets anders geleerd.
Met zijn diepe body en scalloped bracing geeft de Atkin Dreadnought een ongelooflijk sterk, vol geluid. Het is een van de best klinkende gitaren die Atkin maakt en hij valt echt op als je naast andere instrumenten speelt, live of in de studio. De craquelé van deze 'Aged' versie ziet er zowel subtiel als verfijnd uit.
De passie waarmee deze instrumenten gemaakt zijn straalt er vanaf, en het is moeilijk om niet verliefd te worden op zowel de klank als het uiterlijk.

Atkin Guitars was founded in Canterbury, England in 1995. What started as a one-man business with just a handful of unique guitars each year, has steadily grown into one of the most successful acoustic guitar brands in England. Now with two people and still in Canterbury, they build about 80 guitars every year, each one still unique and completely hand-crafted. Atkin continues to positively surprise us with every new guitar that comes in here. The passion with which these instruments are made radiates, and it is difficult not to fall in love with both the sound and the appearance.
With this D-37 relic (also known as "Banjo Killer") Atkin has delivered a masterly relic guitar again. And again they've gone out of their way to create something that looks, feels and sounds authentically vintage. The guitar has a Dreadnought body with style 28 decorations, a Sitka spruce top and a mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, which provides a smooth playability.
The guitar feels very familiar thanks to the relic treatment. The tone this guitar produces is mindblowing, you've got everything from a warm, balanced low end, a powerful and rich midrange and a creamy, fresh high end to top it all of. Includes an Atkin case.
Atkin Guitars wurde 1995 in Canterbury, England, gegründet. Was als Ein-Mann-Betrieb mit nur einer Handvoll einzigartiger Gitarren pro Jahr begann, hat sich stetig zu einer der erfolgreichsten Akustikgitarrenmarken in England entwickelt. Heute bauen sie mit zwei Mitarbeitern und immer noch in Canterbury etwa 80 Gitarren pro Jahr, jede einzelne ein Unikat und komplett handgefertigt. Atkin überrascht uns immer wieder positiv mit jeder neuen Gitarre, die bei uns eintrifft. Die Leidenschaft, mit der diese Instrumente gebaut werden, strahlt aus, und es ist schwer, sich nicht in den Klang und das Aussehen zu verlieben.
Mit dieser D-37-Reliquie (auch bekannt als "Banjo Killer") hat Atkin wieder eine meisterhafte Reliquiengitarre abgeliefert. Und wieder haben sie sich Mühe gegeben, etwas zu schaffen, das authentisch nach Vintage aussieht, sich so anfühlt und so klingt. Die Gitarre hat einen Dreadnought-Korpus mit Style 28 Verzierungen, eine Sitka-Fichtendecke und einen Mahagoni-Hals mit Ebenholz-Griffbrett, der für eine geschmeidige Bespielbarkeit sorgt.
Dank der Relic-Behandlung fühlt sich die Gitarre sehr vertraut an. Der Ton, den diese Gitarre erzeugt, ist umwerfend: von warmen, ausgewogenen Bässen über kräftige und reiche Mitten bis hin zu cremigen, frischen Höhen. Enthält einen Atkin-Koffer.
