PRS McCarty McCarty Sunburst 1998

Eind jaren 80 vroeg Paul Reed Smith aan Ted McCarty om hem te adviseren over gitaarontwerp en productietechnieken. Ted werd niet alleen een mentor, maar ook een goede vriend van Paul en van iedereen bij PRS. In 1994 bracht PRS het eerste McCarty-model uit, een instrument dat de volledige rijkdom aan kennis van Ted combineerde met Paul’s eigen ervaring als bouwer.

Deze vintage-geïnspireerde gitaar heeft een mahoniehouten body met een gevlamde maple top in McCarty Sunburst afwerking. De PRS Stoptail brug zorgt voor extra resonantie, en de vintage-style tuners maken het klassieke plaatje compleet. Maar achter dat traditionele uiterlijk schuilt de moderne kwaliteit waar PRS zo bekend om staat. Dankzij de push/pull toonregeling en 3-weg toggle switch leveren de humbuckers een breed scala aan klanken, waardoor deze gitaar geschikt is voor vrijwel elk genre.

De vorige eigenaar heeft deze gitaar met veel zorg behandeld—er is opvallend weinig slijtage te zien voor een instrument uit 1998. Er zitten wat lichte krasjes op de achterkant van de body en op de pickup covers, maar verder verkeert de gitaar in uitstekende staat.

In the late 1980s, Paul Reed Smith invited Ted McCarty to consult on guitar design and production techniques. Ted became more than a mentor—he was a great friend to Paul and to everyone at PRS. In 1994, PRS released the first McCarty model, an instrument that combined Ted’s decades of expertise with Paul’s own experience as a builder.

This vintage-inspired guitar features a mahogany body and a flamed maple top finished in McCarty Sunburst. It’s equipped with a PRS Stoptail bridge for enhanced resonance and vintage-style tuners that complete the classic look. But underneath that traditional aesthetic lies modern PRS quality—reliable, refined, and ready for anything. With a push/pull tone control and a 3-way toggle switch, the humbuckers deliver a full spectrum of tones, making this guitar highly versatile across genres.

The previous owner clearly took great care of this instrument—it shows very little wear for a guitar from 1998. There are some light scratches on the back and on the pickup covers, but overall, it remains in excellent condition.

Sie ist mit einer PRS Stoptail-Brücke für verbesserte Resonanz und Vintage-Style-Mechaniken ausgestattet, die den klassischen Look vervollständigen. Doch hinter dieser traditionellen Ästhetik verbirgt sich moderne PRS-Qualität - zuverlässig, raffiniert und zu allem bereit. Mit einer Push/Pull-Klangregelung und einem 3-Wege-Kippschalter liefern die Humbucker ein breites Spektrum an Tönen, was diese Gitarre sehr vielseitig in verschiedenen Genres macht.


Der Vorbesitzer hat sich offensichtlich sehr gut um dieses Instrument gekümmert - für eine Gitarre aus dem Jahr 1998 weist sie nur sehr geringe Gebrauchsspuren auf. Es gibt einige leichte Kratzer auf der Rückseite und auf den Pickup-Abdeckungen, aber insgesamt ist sie in einem hervorragenden Zustand.


Sie wird in einem Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass geliefert.
