Gibson Les Paul ''Jessica'' Sunburst 1987
Fans van Slash zullen ongetwijfeld opveren bij het horen van de naam Jessica; het is natuurlijk de bijnaam die de fameuze gitarist van Guns N' Roses en Velvet Revolver gaf aan zijn geliefde Les Paul die zijn belangrijkste instrument werd voor zijn wereldberoemde gitaarsolo's. In 1988 stuurde Gibson twee Les Paul Standards die als zogenaamde Factory Second de fabriek in Nashville verlieten, waarvan er dus één zijn favoriete gitaar werd.
En wat heeft dat met deze Les Paul te maken zul je denken? De Les Paul die wij hebben weten te bemachtigen is afkomstig uit dezelfde productieperiode als Slash' geliefde gitaar! De originele Jessica werd op 24 juni 1987 voltooid, terwijl deze Les Paul op 10 maart van datzelfde jaar de fabriek verliet. Toevallig genoeg waren beide gitaren ook nog de 32e gitaar die op de betreffende dag werd geproduceerd.
Net als Jessica heeft deze Les Paul een body uit één deel mahonie met daarop een driedelige esdoorn top met een Cherry Sunburst finish. Slash liet zijn Les Paul refinishen naar Honey Burst, maar de originele finish is nog in volle glorie aanwezig op deze gitaar. Voor een gitaar uit 1987 ziet deze Les Paul er verder ook bijzonder clean uit! De gitaar heeft door de jaren heen lichte speelsporen op de top, body en hals opgelopen, met daarbij ook enkele dings. Op de zijkant van de hals zijn daarnaast aan weerszijden afdrukken van een muurhanger in de lak te vinden.
De gitaar is op de vervangen controleknoppen na volledig origineel, en is gewoon een heerlijke vintage Les Paul die je alle sounds en speelplezier kan geven die je je maar kan wensen in een gitaar!

Fans of Slash will no doubt rejoice upon hearing the name Jessica; it is, of course, the nickname the famous Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist gave to his beloved Les Paul that became his main instrument for his world-famous guitar solos. In 1988, Gibson sent two Les Paul Standards that left the Nashville factory as a Factory Second, and one of them became his favourite guitar.
And what does that have to do with this Les Paul you will think? The Les Paul we managed to get hold of is from the same production period as Slash's beloved guitar! The original Jessica was completed on 24 June 1987, while this Les Paul left the factory on 10 March of the same year. Coincidentally, both guitars were also the 32nd guitar produced on the day in question.
Like Jessica, this Les Paul has a one-piece mahogany body topped with a three-piece maple top with a Cherry Sunburst finish. Slash had his Les Paul refinished to Honey Burst, but the original finish is still present in all its glory on this guitar. For a guitar from 1987, this Les Paul still looks exceptionally clean! Over the years, the guitar has acquired light play marks on the top, body and neck, along with some dings. On the side of the neck, there are also imprints of a wall hanger in the lacquer on both sides.
The guitar is completely original apart from the replaced control knobs, and is just a wonderful vintage Les Paul that can give you all the sounds and playing pleasure you could wish for in a guitar!

Im Jahr 1988 schickte Gibson zwei Les Paul Standards, die das Werk in Nashville als Factory Second verließen, und eine davon wurde zu seiner Lieblingsgitarre.
Und was hat das mit dieser Les Paul zu tun, werden Sie denken? Die Les Paul, die wir auftreiben konnten, stammt aus demselben Produktionszeitraum wie Slashs geliebte Gitarre! Wie Jessica hat auch diese Les Paul einen einteiligen Mahagonikorpus mit einer dreiteiligen Ahorndecke und einer Cherry Sunburst-Lackierung. Slash ließ seine Les Paul in Honey Burst umlackieren, aber die Originallackierung ist immer noch in ihrer ganzen Pracht vorhanden. Für eine Gitarre aus dem Jahr 1987 sieht diese Les Paul immer noch außergewöhnlich sauber aus! Im Laufe der Jahre hat die Gitarre leichte Spielspuren auf der Decke, dem Korpus und dem Hals sowie einige Dellen bekommen. Auf der Seite des Halses sind außerdem auf beiden Seiten Abdrücke eines Wandhängers im Lack zu sehen.
Die Gitarre ist abgesehen von den ausgetauschten Reglern komplett original und ist einfach eine wunderbare Vintage Les Paul, die Ihnen alle Sounds und Spielfreude bietet, die Sie sich von einer Gitarre wünschen können!
