James Goodall's guitars are some of our favorites here at The Fellowship of Acoustics, and for good reason! His craftsmanship is of the highest caliber, and his instruments are works of art. In 1992, he moved to Hawaii with his family to build guitars there until 2009. This KPK14 is also part of this period, and is truly a fantastic guitar to see and hear!

Gitaarbouwers gebruiken regelmatig lokale houtsoorten voor hun gitaren, en als je op het thuiseiland van een van de mooiste houtsoorten woont zit er natuurlijk maar één ding op: je bouwt een gitaar van Koa! Goodall heeft voor zowel de klankkast als het bovenblad van deze gitaar een prachtig gevlamd stuk Koa gebruikt waardoor deze gitaar een oogverblindende verschijning is.
De schitterende details die deze gitaar sieren zijn ook zeker het vermelden waard. Zo zijn de body en hals voorzien van een purperhart binding. De kopplaat, toets en brug zijn gemaakt van ebben, en vormen een mooi contrast met het lichtere hout van het bovenblad en de klankkast.
Het parlormodel van Goodall werd in 1999 gepresenteerd op de Summer NAMM in Nashville, en was het antwoord op de groeiende vraag naar een kleiner instrument met het geluid van een grotere gitaar. Het model viel meteen op door zijn volle en heldere klank, en deze versie met Koa voegt daar een prettige focus in het middengebied aan toe, met ook een beetje extra's in het hoog. Een meer dan geschikte gitaar voor fingerstyle!
Deze Goodall werd gebouwd in 2002, en is eigenlijk niet van een nieuwe gitaar te onderscheiden. Wát een schoonheid!
Consignatie.
Luthiers often use local woods for their guitars, and when you live on the home island of one of the most beautiful woods, there is of course only one thing to do: you build a guitar from Koa! Goodall has used a beautifully flamed piece of Koa for both the back and sides and the top of this guitar, which makes this guitar a dazzling sight.
The beautiful details that adorn this guitar are also certainly worth mentioning. For example, the body and neck are provided with a purpleheart binding. The headstock, fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony, and form a nice contrast with the lighter wood of the top and the soundboard.
The Goodall parlor model was presented in 1999 at the Summer NAMM in Nashville, and was the answer to the growing demand for a smaller instrument with the sound of a larger guitar. The model immediately stood out for its full and clear sound, and this version with Koa adds a pleasant focus in the midrange, with a little extra in the highs. A more than suitable guitar for fingerstyle!
This Goodall was built in 2002, and is actually indistinguishable from a new guitar. What a beauty!

Gitarrenbauer verwenden für ihre Gitarren oft einheimische Hölzer, und wenn man auf der Heimatinsel eines der schönsten Hölzer lebt, gibt es natürlich nur eines zu tun: Man baut eine Gitarre aus Koa! Goodall hat für die Rückseite und die Seiten sowie die Oberseite dieser Gitarre ein wunderschön geflammtes Stück Koa verwendet, was diese Gitarre zu einem umwerfenden Anblick macht.
Erwähnenswert sind sicherlich auch die schönen Details, die diese Gitarre zieren. So sind beispielsweise Korpus und Hals mit einem Purpleheart Binding versehen. Kopfplatte, Griffbrett und Steg sind aus Ebenholz gefertigt und bilden einen schönen Kontrast zum helleren Holz der Decke und der Resonanzdecke.
Das Goodall-Parlor-Modell wurde 1999 auf der Summer NAMM in Nashville vorgestellt und war die Antwort auf die wachsende Nachfrage nach einem kleineren Instrument mit dem Klang einer größeren Gitarre. Das Modell fiel sofort durch seinen vollen und klaren Klang auf und diese Version mit Koa fügt einen angenehmen Fokus im Mitteltonbereich hinzu, mit einem kleinen Extra in den Höhen. Eine mehr als geeignete Gitarre für Fingerstyle!
Diese Goodall wurde 2002 gebaut und ist eigentlich nicht von einer neuen Gitarre zu unterscheiden. Was für eine Schönheit!
