Om hun 120-jarig bestaan te vieren kwam Gibson in 2013 met een speciale reeks instrumenten, waaronder deze bijzondere SGJ. Met zijn warme Chocolate finish en '120th Anniversary' inleg op de 12e fret is deze gitaar een stijlvol eerbetoon aan Gibson's rijke historie.
De SGJ combineert klassieke SG-elementen met enkele verfrissende keuzes. Zo is de hals gemaakt van esdoorn in plaats van het gebruikelijke mahonie, wat samen met het '50s Rounded profiel zorgt voor een stevige feel en heldere attack. De body is wel van het vertrouwde mahonie, wat deze gitaar zijn karakteristieke warmte en sustain geeft.
Voor de elektronica koos Gibson voor een set '61 Zebra humbuckers. Deze pickups leveren die klassieke vintage sound waar Gibson om bekend staat - van warme clean tones tot ruige rock sounds. Met de traditionele configuratie van twee volume- en toonregelaars heb je alle controle over je sound binnen handbereik. De gitaar verkeert in zeer goede staat en wordt geleverd in een koffer met TFOA paspoort.

For instance, the neck is made of maple instead of the usual mahogany, which, together with the ‘50s Rounded profile, provides a solid feel and bright attack. The body, however, is of the familiar mahogany, which gives this guitar its characteristic warmth and sustain.
For the electronics, Gibson chose a set of ‘61 Zebra humbuckers. These pickups deliver that classic vintage sound Gibson is known for - from warm clean tones to rough rock sounds. Weighing just 2.95 kg, this SGJ is also wonderfully light. No relic, as this SG has earned its marks such as a few dings, weathered lacquer and light ‘buckle rash’ the honest way: by being played a lot! The guitar is in very good condition and comes in a hardshell case with TFOA passport.
