The Taylor Gold Label Series is a completely new model for Taylor. It reaches back to the beloved flattop guitars of the 1930s and 1940s. With Taylor's Gold Label Collection, Andy Powers has entered new sonic territory for Taylor; inspired by an older, more traditional sound.
The guitars combine several new design elements that contribute to that sound such as a “Super Auditorium” body and a new long-tenon neck joint. What is at least as special is the absence of Taylor's own Expression System 2 pickup. For the Gold Label Collection, Taylor makes way for a popular LR Baggs Element VTC

The Gold Label is available in a number of different compositions. First, there is a version with Honduran Rosewood back & sides, combined with a solid Sitka Spruce top. This is available in both a natural and sunburst finish. The second composition has Koa back & sides instead of Rosewood, also available in natural and sunburst finishes.
Before Taylor Guitars officially announced the new Gold Label series, we were visited by the guys from Taylor themselves to see the Gold Label in person. The Gold Label Series was designed entirely by Andy Powers. That's why Andy was happy to personally dial in with our own Fellow Coen to share all the details surrounding this exciting new model.
