Adam Buchwald, who honed his skills at Froggy Bottom Guitars and later founded Circle Strings, put his expertise to use to launch Iris Guitars in 2018.
Iris Guitars offers a range of models that take their inspiration from traditional American guitar designs, but with a unique, minimalist look. Known for their exceptional tone, playability and craftsmanship, these guitars appeal to players who appreciate the combination of vintage influences and modern build quality.
Since their debut at NAMM, we have been big fans of Iris Guitars. Despite their excellence, Iris remained under the radar for some time. Now, however, they are rapidly gaining popularity as more players discover their remarkable craftsmanship. Maico and Milo decided to sit down with a selection of Iris guitars to explore this still young but promising guitar brand.
Iris OG Sunburst Relic
The OG is the original model that put Iris Guitars on the map. The guitar has a size reminiscent of the Gibson LG2. The OG offers a warm and dry sound with an impressive midrange thanks to its mahogany back and sides and Sitka spruce top. The guitar is ideally suited for fingerstyle, but also sounds great when strumming chords.
Iris DF Model Natural
The DF model, which they introduced at NAMM 2020, is the fourth model in Iris Guitar Company's lineup. This lightweight guitar uses a slope shoulder design crafted with mahogany for the back and sides and a spruce top with a “Natural” finish. This creates a full, dry and round sound with a rich mid.
We have many more Iris guitars in our store, including the MS00 model! If you're interested in an Iris model, call or chat with our sales team to see if we can help you get your dream guitar!
