De instrumenten uit de A-serie van McIlroy zijn het meest populaire formaat gitaren uit het assortiment van het merk, en zijn mid-size Jumbo's, ook wel bekend als Auditorium. De gitaren zijn extreem comfortabel om te bespelen en produceren een heldere, luchtige klank met enorm volume.

Zoals altijd bij McIlroy is de bouw- en geluidkwaliteit van het allerhoogste niveau. Niet alleen het hout is bijzonder fraai maar ook de verfijnde klank is volledig in evenwicht met het uiterlijk. De gitaar beschikt over een klankkast van Master Grade Indisch palissander, met daarbij een bovenblad van Sitka sparren. Deze combinatie van materialen heeft zich door de jaren heen bewezen als een betrouwbare samenstelling, en resulteert ook bij deze McIlroy in een prachtige, gebalanceerde klank. De cutaway zorgt ook nog eens voor goede bereikbaarheid van de hogere frets.
De gitaar is verder voorzien van een esdoorn binding op de body, die op zijn beurt weer is voorzien van een purfling van esdoorn en palissander. De rozet bestaat uit palissander, esdoorn en Paua abalone. De vijfdelige hals is gemaakt van mahonie en esdoorn en palissander, en heeft een ebbenhouten toets. Ook hier spreekt de prachtige afwerking tot de verbeelding; esdoorn purfling is zichtbaar op de toets en de kop, de toets heeft een palissander kopplaat, en de 12e fret is versierd met een prachtige Keltische abalone inleg. De Gotoh 510 stemmechanieken zorgen tenslotte voor een soepele stemervaring.
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een Hiscox koffer.
As always with McIlroy, the build and sound quality is of the very highest standard. Not only is the wood particularly beautiful but the refined sound is completely balanced with the look. The guitar features a soundboard made of Master Grade Indian rosewood, topped with a Sitka spruce top. This combination of materials has proven to be a reliable composition over the years, and also results in a beautiful, balanced sound in this McIlroy. The cutaway also provides good accessibility to the higher frets.
The guitar also features a maple binding on the body, which in turn has a purfling of maple and rosewood. The rosette consists of rosewood, maple and Paua abalone. The five-piece neck is made of mahogany and maple and rosewood, and has an ebony fingerboard. Again, the beautiful finish captures the imagination; maple purfling is visible on the fingerboard and headstock, the fingerboard has a rosewood headstock plate, and the 12th fret is decorated with a beautiful Celtic abalone inlay. Finally, the Gotoh 510 tuners ensure a smooth tuning experience.
The guitar comes with TFOA passport in a Hiscox hardshell case.
Wie immer bei McIlroy ist die Bau- und Klangqualität auf höchstem Niveau. Nicht nur das Holz ist besonders schön, sondern auch der raffinierte Klang steht in vollem Einklang mit dem Aussehen. Die Gitarre hat einen Resonanzboden aus Master Grade Indian Palisander, der mit einer Sitka-Fichtendecke belegt ist. Diese Materialkombination hat sich im Laufe der Jahre als zuverlässige Komposition erwiesen und sorgt auch bei dieser McIlroy für einen schönen, ausgewogenen Klang. Der Cutaway bietet außerdem eine gute Zugänglichkeit zu den höheren Bünden.
Der Korpus der Gitarre ist mit einem Ahorn-Binding versehen, das wiederum mit einer Randeinlage aus Ahorn und Palisander versehen ist. Die Rosette besteht aus Palisander, Ahorn und Paua-Abalone. Der fünfteilige Hals ist aus Mahagoni, Ahorn und Palisander gefertigt und hat ein Ebenholzgriffbrett. Auch hier besticht die schöne Lackierung: Auf dem Griffbrett und der Kopfplatte ist eine Ahorneinlage zu sehen, das Griffbrett hat eine Kopfplatte aus Palisander, und der 12. Schließlich sorgen die Gotoh 510 Mechaniken für ein reibungsloses Stimmen.
Die Gitarre wird mit TFOA-Pass in einem Hiscox-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
