De Atkin Custom D12s 12 Fret is een indrukwekkende dreadnought die de tijdloze charme van klassieke 12-fret ontwerpen perfect vastlegt. Met zijn thermisch behandelde Sitka sparren bovenblad en Shade Top sunburst finish straalt deze gitaar een vintage karakter uit dat normaal alleen bij decennia oude instrumenten te vinden is.

De combinatie van het thermisch behandelde bovenblad met de massief mahonie klankkast creëert een karaktervolle stem die zowel warm als responsief is. Het 'baking' proces stabiliseert het hout en opent de klankstructuur, wat resulteert in een gitaar die klinkt alsof hij al jaren is bespeeld, zelfs wanneer hij nieuw uit de koffer komt. De scalloped X-bracing ondersteunt deze toon verder en zorgt voor een uitstekende dynamiek en expressie.
De 12-fret Dreadnought is een bijzonder model, en heeft een ander karakter dan zijn 14-fret tegenhanger. Door de positionering van de brug heeft de 12-fret beduidend meer bas dan de reguliere dreadnought, en is daarom veel meer een fingerstyle-gitaar dan een strummer. De 14-fret Dreadnought werd als opvolger van de 12-fret ontwikkeld om luider en helderder te zijn, maar de 12-fret heeft altijd zijn schare fans behouden vanwege zijn onderscheidende karakter.
Waar Atkin al geruime tijd bewijst dat het merk als geen ander een gitaar kan bouwen, is het aging-proces misschien wel het meest indrukwekkende aspect van Atkin Guitars. De passie waarmee deze instrumenten gemaakt zijn straalt er vanaf, en het is moeilijk om niet verliefd te worden op zowel de klank als het uiterlijk!
Deze Atkin is gebouwd in 2024, en ziet er nog zo goed als nieuw uit. De gitaar heeft slechts minimale speelsporen verzameld, en wordt met echtheidscertificaat geleverd in een koffer van TKL.
The combination of the heat-treated top and the solid mahogany back and sides creates a characterful voice that is both warm and responsive. The baking process stabilizes the wood and opens up the tonal structure, resulting in a guitar that sounds like it has been played for years, even when it is new out of the case. The scalloped X-bracing further supports this tone and provides excellent dynamics and expression.
The 12-fret Dreadnought is a special model, and has a different character than its 14-fret counterpart. Due to the positioning of the bridge, the 12-fret has significantly more bass than the regular dreadnought, and is therefore much more of a fingerstyle guitar than a strummer. The 14-fret Dreadnought was developed as a successor to the 12-fret to be louder and brighter, but the 12-fret has always retained its fan base due to its distinctive character.
While Atkin has long proven that the brand can build a guitar like no other, the aging process is perhaps the most impressive aspect of Atkin Guitars. The passion with which these instruments are made radiates from it, and it is hard not to fall in love with both the sound and the appearance!
This Atkin was built in 2024, and still looks as good as new. The guitar has only collected minimal playwear, and comes with a certificate of authenticity in a TKL hardshell case.

Die Dreadnought mit 12 Bünden ist ein Sondermodell und hat einen anderen Charakter als ihr Gegenstück mit 14 Bünden. Aufgrund der Positionierung des Stegs hat die 12-Bund-Gitarre deutlich mehr Bass als die normale Dreadnought und ist daher eher eine Fingerstyle-Gitarre als eine Strummer-Gitarre. Die 14-bündige Dreadnought wurde als Nachfolger der 12-bündigen Dreadnought entwickelt, um lauter und heller zu sein, aber die 12-bündige Dreadnought hat aufgrund ihres unverwechselbaren Charakters immer ihre Fangemeinde behalten.
Während Atkin seit einiger Zeit beweist, dass die Marke eine Gitarre wie keine andere bauen kann, ist der Alterungsprozess vielleicht der beeindruckendste Aspekt von Atkin Guitars. Man spürt die Leidenschaft, mit der diese Instrumente hergestellt werden, und es ist schwer, sich nicht sowohl in den Klang als auch in das Aussehen zu verlieben!
Dieser Atkin wurde im Jahr 2024 gebaut und sieht immer noch wie neu aus. Die Gitarre weist nur minimale Spielspuren auf und wird mit einem Echtheitszertifikat im TKL-Koffer geliefert.
