Dion Guitars is een eenmansbedrijf dat gespecialiseerd is in handgemaakte akoestische gitaren. Oprichter Dion James bouwt zijn gitaren momenteel vanuit The Club House in Edmonton, Canada.
De gitaren van Dion staan bekend om hun opvallende minimalisme. Zonder veel visuele opsmuk en overbodige versieringen heeft Dion een uniek ontwerp bereikt met een elegante eenvoud, elk detail is fascinerend op zichzelf!
De Number 4 is het grotere model van Dion en dit exemplaar heeft een werkelijk schitterende combinatie van houtsoorten. De grote blikvanger van deze prachtige gitaar is de klankkast van figured mahonie, dat de aandacht trekt door zijn fraaie tekening. Daarnaast beschikt de gitaar over een hals van Hondurees mahonie, en wordt er voor de toets, brug en de fineer op de kop ebbenhout gebruikt. De mahonie details in zowel de binding, rozet en op de toets maken het plaatje helemaal compleet!
En deze gitaar is niet alleen mooi, hij klinkt ook nog eens fenomenaal goed! Hij is snel en responsief, of hij nu zacht of luid wordt bespeeld, en hij heeft een heldere en volle stem, een complex geluidsbereik en levendige sustain. The Number 4 is Dion's larger model and this specimen has a truly beautiful combination of wood types. The main eye-catcher of this beautiful guitar are the figured mahogany back and sides, which draws attention with its beautiful grain. In addition, the guitar has a neck made of Honduran mahogany, and ebony is used for the fretboard, bridge and veneer on the headstock. The mahogany details in both the binding, rosette and on the fretboard complete the picture!
