Deze Ark New Era Barndance OM uit 2010 is een prachtig voorbeeld van verfijnd gitaarbouwerswerk, waarbij traditioneel vakmanschap en hoogwaardige materialen samenkomen. Dit is een prachtige recreatie van de legendarische "Arkie"-gitaar die in de jaren dertig beroemd werd gemaakt door de Larson Brothers. Het is gemaakt volgens de exacte specificaties van Anthony Klassen in Indiana, inclusief gelamineerde bracing, licht gebogen bovenkant en huidlijmconstructie. Het vakmanschap is direct zichtbaar in de details: de ivoroid binding wordt vergezeld door abalone purfling en rozet, terwijl de driedelige hals is opgebouwd uit gevlamd esdoorn met palissander. Deze constructie zorgt niet alleen voor een stabiele hals, maar draagt ook bij aan de visuele aantrekkingskracht van het instrument.
De ebben toets met zijn 10" radius en het comfortabele C-profiel van de hals maken deze OM tot een zeer prettig bespeelbaar instrument. Met een topkambreedte van 45,5mm biedt de gitaar ruim voldoende plaats voor fingerstyle werk, terwijl het profiel ervoor zorgt dat de hals ook voor akkoordwerk zeer comfortabel in de hand ligt. De esdoorn klankkast geeft deze Barndance OM een directe, gearticuleerde klank met uitstekende definitie in de noten. Het Adirondack sparren bovenblad voegt hier nog eens extra dynamiek en headroom aan toe, wat resulteert in een gitaar die zowel subtiel als krachtig bespeeld kan worden.
Deze Ark New Era wordt geleverd in een Ameritage koffer met TFOA paspoort, en verkeert met lichte speelsporen en enkele dings op het bovenblad in excellente staat. Een uniek instrument dat met zijn bijzondere houtcombinatie en verfijnde details een waardige aanvulling is voor elke verzameling, maar bovenal een gitaar die vraagt om bespeeld te worden!
This is a beautiful recreation of the legendary "Arkie" guitar made famous by the Larson Brothers in the 1930s. It is made to Anthony Klassen's exacting specifications in Indiana, including laminated bracing, a slightly arched top and hide glue construction. The craftsmanship is immediately apparent in the details: the ivoroid binding is accompanied by abalone purfling and rosette, while the three-piece neck is constructed from flamed maple with rosewood. This construction not only provides a stable neck, but also adds to the visual appeal of the instrument.
The ebony fingerboard with its 10" radius and the comfortable C-profile of the neck make this OM a very pleasant instrument to play. With a top nut width of 45.5 mm, the guitar offers more than enough space for fingerstyle work, while the profile ensures that the neck is also very comfortable in the hand for chord work. The maple sound box gives this Barndance OM a direct, articulate sound with excellent definition in the notes.
