De 'J' laat zich echter ook inspireren door de Jazzmaster en onderscheidt zich door middel van de nieuwe 'Novo-branded' Mastery brug en vibrato. Naast de volume- en toonknop heeft hij een driestandenschakelaar voor meer dan voldoende tonale variatie; van romige solo's in de halspositie tot scheurende ritmepartijen op het brugelement.
