Jellinghaus Master Built Torres77 Spruce Purple Heart PU

With the Torres77, Jellinghaus brings Antonio de Torres' Modelo 77 to life in a compact parlor guitar. This Master Built version combines a Swiss Moon Spruce top with a striking body made from solid Purpleheart, creating an instrument with a distinctive character of its own.

The Torres77 is inspired by the Modelo 77 that Antonio de Torres built in 1884 for the affluent Cano family, whose instruments eventually found their way into the hands of greats such as Tárrega. Most original Torres guitars are now museum pieces; Jellinghaus' interpretation, by contrast, was made to be played.

As a Master Built instrument, this Torres77 is entirely handmade, using carefully selected and well-seasoned tonewoods. As was traditionally customary, the Swiss Moon Spruce top is harvested during the waning moon for increased stability. The Torres-style fan bracing provides rich sustain and surprisingly powerful volume for the compact parlor format, while the solid Purpleheart body delivers warm bass, with a clear and well-defined midrange and treble.

The cedar neck with ebony fingerboard and shorter scale length also make the guitar particularly comfortable to play. Comes with a case.
